Apr 03, 2010 · You didn't say it was a 1500, or what engine it has. But just some general issues that you run up against in super/turbo-charged engines will be dealing with: detonation will be a larger and larger issue to deal with as boost goes up. Reduced timing curves and water/acetone/alcohol injection are some solutions. A smaller, forced induction engine can use as much air (or more) as a larger engine. Combined with the appropriate amount of fuel, astounding power gains can be achieved. Formula 1 in the late eighties saw short-lived 1.5 liter turbocharged engines producing over 1000 horsepower. How much power can i get with my 12v cummins for 6000 dollars. ... If yo can put 6K to engine, I think around 550 to 600 hp ... I run 50psi at 3500rpm on stock ...
Jun 30, 2014 · Performance can be measured a few ways including fuel consumption, emissions output and maximizing the kinetic energy your car can produce. Automotive manufacturers have tuned most of the cars on the road to be much more conservative of their actual potential performance.
Table 1 shows that you obviously can't try to run 10 pounds of boost on a 9.0:1 compression ratio engine. This gives you an effective compression ratio of 15.1:1, way beyond our 12:1 figure. If you are building your engine from scratch, it is a good idea to try to build it with a relatively low compression ratio, such as 7.5 or 8.0:1. Oct 16, 2014 · My rule of thumb when dealing with high boost tuning on stock internals is to tune with 93 octane at a mild boost number (say 10psi) and then add C-16 and more boost. C-16 is a heavy fuel that resists detonation and does not change your STOICH value in the tune.

The engine I chose for this test was a motor we built for the Popular Hot Rod Engine Master Challenge. It is a 414 CID LS motor designed to run on 91 octane with power approaching 700 HP. When testing Race-Gas I was being careful watching the data stream for knocking. May 23, 2014 · After the initial onset of boost, they run pretty much the same boost. What for sure causes this may take a little while to figure out, but we have an idea what the main change is :) Below is a comparison of the stock HP levels of the 2015 and 2008 STI. If we apply the formula to a stock 5.3L, which makes 355 hp under our test conditions, we would get 710 hp at 14.7 psi. On the other hand, if we increase the power output of our motor to 500 hp with ported heads, the right cam and a powerful intake, adding the same 14.7 psi of boost would put us near 1,000 hp! A stock engine with a 60 hp nitrous kit can run the stock fuel pump. If you have other modifications, or want to run more than 60 hp nitrous, your fuel pump should be upgraded using a 190 lph or 255 lph in tank pump. You can use a BBK or Walboro pump for a 87-93 EFI 5.0L Mustang. What are the advantages of nitrous oxide?
The key is to choose the correct kit far a given application; i.e., 4 cyl. engines normally allow an extra 40- 60 HP, 6 cyl. engines usually work great between 75-100 extra HP small block V8’s (302/350/400cid) can typically accept up to 140 extra HP, and big block V8’s (427-454) might accept from 125-200 extra HP.
The best quality octane boosters on the market can raise your octane values by 5%. The average is about 3% which is enough of a boost to see an improvement in engine knocking. Don’t believe super hyped ads that promise huge increases in the octane ratings. Have realistic Expectations – Don’t expect miracles from using an octane booster.

Jul 01, 2009 · If we take a 350 hp normally aspirated motor and add 14.7 psi of boost (basically doubling the current atmospheric pressure) we should (in theory) be able to double the power output to 700 hp ... Know alot of blown guys including myself that run 20+ lbs of boost on a higher compression engine when they are built correctly. Do agree on a stock engine stay under 8 if you want longevity. Predator 212cc engines can have their stock parts removed, and replaced with performance parts (parts that increase horsepower and speed compared to the stock predator 6.5 hp engine). Here is a quick overview of what I recommend doing first. May 16, 2009 · on the gen 2 if you work the top end you might be good to 350 hp if you keep the tune good and keep the oil good but it wont last an extremely long time at that level as i am not sure the max of the rods (the gen 1's are good to about 350 but not for extended periods of time) kawiboy11 an engine with a VE of 100% should be able to cram in exactly the same volume of air as the calculated volume of the cylinder. Because of restrictions in the intake, however (primarily the venturis on carburetored engines), most stock engines have a maximum VE of around 80%, while most race engines hover around 95-100%. With the proper cam and/or ram air
Jun 02, 2016 · An engine that produces a lot of exhaust gas but running low levels of boost will require lots of exhaust to be diverted away from it by the wastegate, requiring a bigger wastegate. Higher boost levels will require less exhaust to be diverted away from the turbine, so the wastegate can be smaller.

With that modification in place, you can expect a gain of 2-3 horsepower on your RZR 800. In addition to the boost in horsepower, you will also experience an engine that is more responsive to the throttle. If you love the feeling of tapping the throttle and being rushed forward as if out of a cannon, an upgraded exhaust system is a great idea. You can run a 35r safely on stock but engine life is usually dependent on the tune and how you drive/maintain it. You could be rated at 412WHP but if you never hit that while putzing around your engine might last as long as anyones. Bottom line: if you hit full boost a lot expect to slay your engine no matter how well it's built. Dec 08, 2013 · i know i can supercharge its just a matter of how much psi? i got all the pieces and parts priced out but if the block cant handle that much boost i will go with a 5.0 liter and i will convert to a 2wd at some point, i was gonna eventually turn it into a drift or drag drug, once i got a f150 or something that can tow it _____ Oct 01, 2016 · October 1, 2016 - In extreme cases, driving an overheated engine even a short distance can destroy the cylinder head, engine block or internal parts..

Jun 28, 2015 · It would be enough for increasing boost pressure on the stock ECU from 10 psi (0.7 bar) to 13 psi (0.9 bar). The next what you have to do is acquiring a Blitz ECU (or another one), boostcontroller, blow-off, intercooler and increase boost pressure up to 17 psi (1.2 bar). That is a maximal boost pressure of stock turbochargers.

Aug 30, 2011 · 22,953. 15 psi would double the potential hp of the motor, as atmospheric air pressure is ~15psi, so adding an additional 15psi of boost is actually 30psi of Absolute pressure, twice the air. Engines make hp based on how much air and fuel they can run through them, and how much energy can be extracted from each pound of air that runs through the engine.
